Robin Cook (American novelist)
Robin Cook ( born May 4, 1940 in New York City ) is an American physician and author.
Life
Cook studied at Wesleyan University and attended the Medical School of Columbia University. His time as a junior doctor he completed at Harvard University. Having found its way with his first novel in the international bestseller lists, he took leave from his duties at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. In his books, he deals with issues of medicine and health sciences. Some of his books such as coma and The Curse of the Sphinx were filmed. The TV film adaptations of some of his novels for NBC - TV and CBS - TV have not been shown in Germany.
It is not identical with the British author Robin Cook (1931-1994), who published under the pen name Derek Raymond Hardboiled thrillers.
Robin Cook is now living as a freelance writer with his wife Barbara in Florida.
