Robin Page

Robin Page ( born November 2, 1932 in London, UK, lives and works since 1970 in Dusseldorf ) is a British conceptual artist and important representative of the Fluxus movement.

Life and work

Robin Page was born in 1932 in England. His father, Peter Carter Page, was a cartoonist and draftsman and got a job at the Disney Studios in Hollywood in the 1930s. The family moved to Canada, where the young Page lived until the age of 27 years. He attended the Vancouver School of Art in 1952 until 1954.

In 1959 moved back to Europe and Page quickly found access to the international network of the Fluxus artists such as Robert Filliou, Dieter Roth, Dorothy Iannone, Daniel Spoerri, Ben Vautier and others.

Robin Page had from 1963 to 1965 a guest lecturer at High Wycombe College of Further Education and at Leicester College of Art and at the Coventry College of Art from 1965 to 1970 he was a lecturer at the Fine Art Department of the Leeds College of Art in 1970 drew Page after Germany and the Fluxus movement made ​​popular along with other artists.

Robin Page began developing his own artistic form of expression of one of the first artists of humor also began as a means of expression of his art. The stylistic device of his art are painting, object art, happenings, events and performance presentations.
