Robin Evan Roberts ( born September 30, 1926 in Springfield, Illinois, † May 6, 2010 in Temple Terrace, Hillsborough County, Florida) was an American baseball player in Major League Baseball.

Biography

Robin Roberts was the winningest right-handed pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies. Roberts came from Michigan State University where he played baseball and basketball, for professional baseball. In the first year of his professional career, he was disappointed to have to start in Minor League Baseball, but already on 18 June 1948, he made ​​his debut in the National League. This season, he won nine games in his first full season in 1949 he reached fifteen victories.
