Robin Smeulders

Robin Smeulders ( born June 19, 1987 in Münster) is a Dutch- German basketball player in the position of forward.

Life

Smeulders is the son of an Austrian woman and a Dutchman and holds both Dutch and Austrian citizenship. Smeulders, who lived in his native Germany before his college years, but has now received the German citizenship. He made in 2006 at the Hoffmann- of - Faller Life Sciences Braunschweig His High School.

He played from 2004 to 2006 in the second basketball league in the SG Braunschweig and was already 18 years that master players. He has been called several times in representative teams of the Dutch Basketball Federation. He was already in the extended circle of U-18 juniors and has participated in several international tournaments and a European Junior Championship. His previous positions were: EBBC Hertogenbosch ( NL), Vellmar.

On 8 June 2010, EWE Baskets Oldenburg announced to undertake Smeulders for 2 years ( plus an option).

Due to its size of 2.08 m and its bounce, he is also called " The Flying Dutchman ".
