Biography

Childhood

Robin Thicke was born in March 1977 as the second child of actor and songwriter Alan Thicke and singer Gloria Loring and Soap Actress. Of the careers of both parents affected, he had already at the age of twelve guest appearances in television series such as the 1960 drama The Wonder Years or the sitcom Growing Pains. Although both father and mother supported him in his project, Thicke decided a little later, to turn away from acting. At 16, he finally met Andre Hall, the chairman of Interscope Records know which Thicke offered a recording contract with the sub-label Nu America Records. Although he is first heard in 1996 on the soundtrack to Demi Moore film Striptease, however he made in subsequent years primarily as a songwriter for Brandy, Michael Jackson, Mýa, Usher, Pink, Christina Aguilera and Mary J. Blige also a name. At the age of 14, he met 15-year- old Paula Patton, who is now a well-known actress. The two have been married since 2005 and have since 6 April 2010, their son. On February 24, 2014, the couple announced their separation.

Music career

2000 Robin Thicke finally began with the recording of his debut album, Cherry Blue Skies. Two years later, was finally coupled out in June 2002 with When I Get You Alone, the first single from the inspired by neo-soul album. The Beethoven's 5th Symphony based song became a worldwide chart success, reaching number 29 among others in the U.S. and number 17 in Australia. Following the success Interscope Records and Nu America decided to re-release the album, which finally in 2003 under the name A Beautiful World - was published a second time - including some new recordings. Despite a second single from the album (Brand New Jones) but the album was commercially hardly successful.

After further collaborations with Will Smith and rapper Lil Wayne finally Thicke joined in 2005 by Nu America over to Pharrell Williams ' Star Trak Records. The shared studio time with Williams and co-producer Chad Hugo showed the single Wanna Love U Girl in the same year. Although the mid-tempo track was first published only in the English-speaking world and was only successful in radio airplay, it was published the following year as a remix with Busta Rhymes even a second time.

Thickes second album The Evolution of Robin Thicke appeared on 3 October 2006 in North America. The record sold more than 800,000 copies to date and helped Thicke for commercial breakthrough in the U.S.. In the mid-2007 appeared dance film Stomp the Yard, alongside Ne - Yo, he can be seen for the first time as an actor. On the album Curtis of rapper 50 Cent he can be heard in a song. On the soundtrack for the film Valentine's Day, he can be heard together with the singer Leighton Meester in the song Somebody to Love.

In 2013 he published the title Blurred Lines. This became his most commercially successful hit, reaching in Germany, Switzerland and the UK # 1 on the charts. The success of the single is due, among other things, that the song for a commercial company Beats by Dr. Dre was used.
