In Italy, the robola however, is not to be found, so that they can be currently considered as an indigenous variety of Greece. It is also not related to the Italian varietals family Ribolla. While a genetic analysis in California for the result has robola is identical with the variety Thiako, provide analysis in the Institute of Viticulture and Athens different results. Thus robola is identical with the variety Goustoldi. However, it later turned out, those were not the same as the present in California and Athens vines. This could be a proof of a conjecture that robola is no variety but a group of standing in the Joint kit varieties.
