Robson Conceição

Robson Conceição ( born October 25, 1988 in Salvador da Bahia) is a Brazilian boxer in the lightweight. Conceição was an American Champion 2009, silver medalist at the Pan American Games in 2011 and participants of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and 2012 in London.

Career

2005 Conceição first participated at the national championships and was able to win the championship title in the flyweight ( 51kg - ). In 2006 he finished second in the bantamweight ( 54kg - ), third in 2007 in the featherweight ( 57kg - ) and in 2008 he did not come through a third square.

In the same year Conceição participated in the American Olympic Qualification Tournament in Port of Spain and Guatemala City in part, in which he failed in the first tournament in the semifinals at Idel Torri duck, Cuba ( 18:6 ), but took first place in the second tournament, and thus for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing qualified. At the Olympic Games Conceição failed in the first battle Li Yang, China ( 12:4 ).

In 2009, Conceição first time to the American championships and won by defeating Ivan Onate, Cuba ( 10:8 ), Claudio Marrero, Dominican Republic ( 9:5 ), and in the final against Óscar Valdez, Mexico ( 6:5 ), the gold medal. At the world championships in the same year he lost in the first fight against Yasniel Toledo, Cuba ( 21:7 ). 2009 Conceição was also Brazilian champion.

In the military world championships in 2010 Conceição launched for the first time in the Lightweight ( - 60kg), but failed in the first fight at Tommy Roque, USA ( 12:9 ).

2011 won Conceição at the Pan American Games after beating Wellington Arias, Dominican Republic ( 18:11 ), Toka Kahn- Clary, USA ( 21:6 ) and Angel Suarez, Puerto Rico ( 27:8 ), and a final defeat by Lazaro Alvarez, Cuba ( 19:15), the silver medal in the bantamweight ( 56kg - ). In the same year he was also military world champion at lightweight.

At the 2011 World Championships Conceição reached after victories against Michał Chudecki, Poland ( 16:7 ), and Martin Ward, England ( 21:20 ), the second round in lightweight which he against the eventual world champion Vasyl Lomatschenko, Ukraine ( 19:18 ) just barely lost. This 9.Place to Conceição qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Here he met in the first round over the Scot Josh Taylor, against which he lost with 13:9 points.

2013 won the Pan American Championships Conceição in Santiago de Chile. In the same year he also won the gold medal at the World Championships in Almaty. Towards title he won among others against the silver medalist at the 2011 Asian Championships Dorjnyambuu Otgondalai, Mongolia ( 2:1), Domenico Valentino, Italy ( 3-0), and Lázaro Álvarez, Cuba (3-0).
