Rocky Knob AVA

Rocky Knob AVA is a 3,642 -hectare wine producing area in the U.S. state of Virginia. Recognition as American Viticultural Area (AVA ) was carried out in 1983 and was expanded in 1987. Are grown under different grape varieties Seyval Blanc, Alicante Bouschet, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Malbec, Merlot, Norton, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese, Syrah and Viognier

Location

The area to the southwest of the state of Virginia extends east of the Blue Ridge Parkway on the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The wine region is located in the County Floyd and Patrick. The height above sea level is 490-1089 meters.

Climate
