Rod Fanni

Rod Fanni ( born December 6, 1981 in Martigues ) is a French football player. He plays the position of right-back.

Career

Association

Rod Fanni, whose parents come from Benin, began as a teenager in his native city at FC Martigues with the sport of football; from 1999 he was part of its third league squad, with whom he ascended into the Division 2 2000. Two years later brought him the RC Lens to northern France, where he came to his first race in the top division in September 2002. 2004, the club loaned him out to LB Châteauroux. Next stop was for two seasons of OGC Nice; since the summer of 2007 Fanni stands at Stade Rennes under contract. Until the beginning of the season 2009/10 he had completed ( for Lens and Rennes) 155 games in Ligue 1 and already 16 matches in Champions League ( with Lens) and the UEFA Cup. In the 2009/10 season he was the only player in Ligue 1, who had been standing in all 38 point games over a full 90 minutes on the court.

During the winter break 2010/11 Fanni transferred for a transfer of 4 million euros to Olympique Marseille.

National

In August 2008, Rod Fanni was who internationally already boast five appearances for France espoir, for the first time in the squad of the French A- national team. In mid-October he played on the occasion of the friendly match against Tunisia its debut at the Bleus; he stood at right-back in the starting lineup. In the 2008 /09 season he came in two other internationals used. In May 2010, Fanni was called by coach Raymond Domenech in the preliminary squad for the World Cup 2010. Shortly afterwards, on 17 May, Domenech but emphasized the defensive player back from his squad.
