Roderich Kreile

Roderich Kreile (* 1956 in Munich) is a Protestant church musician, choir director and university teacher. As 28 Protestant Kreuzkantor he leads since 1997 the Dresden Kreuz Choir.

Life and work

Kreile studied church music and choral conducting in Munich. In 1981, he stepped up to the A- Kantor place at the Christ Church in Munich. From 1989 to 1996 he taught choral conducting at the Musikhochschule in Munich, where he most recently held a professorship. His appointment as director of church music followed 1990, 1994, he also assumed the rehearsals of the Munich Philharmonic Choir. In 2010 he was appointed as a member of the Saxon Academy of Arts. He is vice chairman of the New Bach Society and a member of the Advisory Board of the International Heinrich Schütz Society.

Under him the Dresden Kreuz Choir has taken on numerous guest performances in Germany and abroad. Tours have taken the choir under his direction by Germany and other European countries to the United States, South America, South Korea and Japan.

Honors

On June 2, 2012 he was awarded the Saxon State Parliament President Matthias Roessler " for his impressive artistic work, which is always associated with high personal commitment and great success ," the Saxon constitution medal.
