Roland Stoltz (ice hockey b. 1931)

Frank Roland " Roll" Stoltz ( born August 1, 1931 in Stockholm, † February 19, 2001 ) was a Swedish professional ice hockey player.

Career

Roland Stoltz began his career as a hockey player with the Atlas Diesels IF, for the first team, he was from 1948 to 1955 in Division 1, the then highest Swedish league, Division 2, and the second-class active. Then the defender moved to Djurgårdens IF, with whom he six times in a row, won the national championship in 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962 and 1963. In 1959 he was also awarded the Guldpucken as Sweden's Player of the Year. In Djurgårdens IF he finished his career in 1970. He was honored with induction into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 1999.

Internationally

For Sweden Stoltz participated in the Olympic Winter Games in 1960 in Squaw Valley, 1964 in Innsbruck and 1968 Grenoble part. At the Winter Games in 1964 he won the silver medal with his team. In addition, he was in the squad of his country at the World Championships in 1957, 1958, 1962, 1963, 1965 and 1967. At the World Championships in 1958 and 1965, he won the silver medal with his team each the bronze at the World Championships in 1963 and 1967. At the World Championships in 1957 and 1962 Stoltz won the gold medal with Sweden. As the best European team, the team was also European champion in each case.
