Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cumaná

The Archdiocese of Cumana (Latin: Archidioecesis Cumanensis, Spanish: Archidiócesis de Cumana ) is a location in Venezuela Roman Catholic diocese based in Cumana. It includes part of the Venezuelan state of Sucre.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded it on 12 October 1922 with the bull ad munus of cessions of territory of the diocese of Ciudad Bolívar and became the Archdiocese of Caracas assumed as suffragan. On June 21, 1958, was part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Ciudad Bolívar.

With the Apostolic Constitution necessitate adducti it was collected on 16 May 1992, the rank of Metropolitanerzbistums.
