Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ibadan

The Archdiocese of Ibadan (lat.: Archidioecesis Ibadanensis ) is a location in Nigeria Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Ibadan.

History

The Archdiocese of Ibadan was born on March 13, 1952 by Pope Pius XII. built with the Apostolic Constitution Sedes Apostolica of cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Lagos as the Apostolic Prefecture of Ibadan.

The Apostolic Prefecture of Ibadan was on 28 April 1958 under Pius XII. applicable to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Lagos is a suffragan. On March 26, 1994, the Diocese of Ibadan was elevated to an archdiocese by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Cum in Nigeria.
