Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Mandalay

The Archdiocese of Mandalay (Latin: Archidioecesis Mandalayensis ) is an Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic church located in Mandalay, Myanmar.

The Archdiocese was on 27 November 1866 as the Apostolic Vicariate of Central Burma from the Vicariate Apostolic of Burma out by Pope Pius IX. founded; first bishop was Charles Arsène Bourdon, MEP. In 1870 the name was changed to Vicariate Apostolic of Northern Burma (Latin Birmaniae Septentrionalis ). By Pope Pius XI. took place on January 5, 1939, the renamed Vicariate Apostolic of Mandalay; by Pope Pius XII. the Vicariate was raised on 1 January 1955 Archdiocese.
