Roman Catholic Diocese of Antsirabé

The diocese Antsirabé (Latin: Dioecesis Antsirabensis ) is a location in Madagascar Roman Catholic diocese based in Antsirabe.

History

The Diocese of Antsirabe was built on May 15, 1913 by Pope Pius X. territorial concessions from the Apostolic Vicariate of Central Madagascar as Apostolic Prefecture Betafo. On August 24, 1918, the Apostolic Prefecture was Betafo by Pope Benedict XV. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Laeto semper accipimus Apostolic Vicariate. The Apostolic Vicariate of Betafo was renamed on January 10, 1921 in Apostolic Vicariate Antsirabé. On 8 January 1938, the Apostolic Vicariate Antsirabé were from parts of its territory establishing the Apostolic Prefecture of Morondava.

The Apostolic Vicariate of Antsirabé was born on September 14, 1955 by Pope Pius XII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Dum Tantis to the diocese and the Archdiocese assumed Tananarive suffragan.
