The diocese Araçuaí (Latin: Dioecesis Arassuahyensis ) is a location in Brazil the Roman Catholic Diocese based in Araçuaí in the state of Minas Gerais.

History

The diocese Araçuaí was established on August 25, 1913 by Pope Pius X made ​​cessions of territory of the Diocese of Diamantina. On June 28, 1917, the diocese was Araçuaí the Archdiocese of Diamantina is a suffragan. The diocese Araçuaí announced on February 1, 1956 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Governador Valadares. For more territorial concessions were made on 27 November 1960 for the establishment of the Diocese of Teófilo Otoni and on 28 March 1981 founding of the Diocese of Almenara.
