Roman Catholic Diocese of Bangassou

The Diocese of Bangassou (Latin Dioecesis Bangassuensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Bangassou in the Central African Republic. It consists of the prefectures skin Mbomou and Mbomou.

History

Pope Pius XII. founded the Apostolic Prefecture Bangassou with the Apostolic Constitution Cum per certo on June 14, 1954 from annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Bangui.

With the Apostolic Constitution Quod sacri Gospel it was raised on February 10, 1964 Diocese. On 18 December 2004, it lost part of its territory to the diocese Alindao.
