Roman Catholic Diocese of Guntur
The Diocese of Guntur (Latin: Dioecesis Gunturensis ) is a located in India Roman Catholic diocese based in Guntur.
History
Pope Pius XII. founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Ad aptius fovendum on 13 February 1940 cession of territory of the Diocese of Nellore and it became the Archdiocese of Madras assumed as suffragan.
On September 19, 1953, was part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Hyderabad. On 16 October 2001 it became part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Visakhapatnam.
