Roman Catholic Diocese of Ilhéus
The Diocese of Ilheus (Latin: Dioecesis Ilheosensis ) is a location in Brazil Roman Catholic diocese based in Ilheus, Bahia.
History
The Diocese of Ilheus was built on October 20, 1913 by Pope Pius X made cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of São Salvador da Bahia and this is a suffragan. On July 21, 1962, the Diocese of Ilheus were parts of its territory from the foundation of the diocese Caravelas. A further transfer of territory took place on 7 November 1978 foundation of the diocese Itabuna.
