Roman Catholic Diocese of Jinotega

The Diocese of Jinotega (Latin: Dioecesis Xinoteganus ) is located in Nicaragua Roman Catholic diocese based in Jinotega. It includes the Department of Jinotega.

History

With the Apostolic Constitution Libenti quidem animo Pope John Paul II founded the Territorialprälatur Jinotega on 18 June 1982 of territory of the Diocese of Matagalpa. On 30 April 1991, it was elevated to the Apostolic Constitution Quod Praelatura Xinotegana to the diocese.
