Roman Catholic Diocese of Matagalpa

The Diocese of Matagalpa (Latin: Dioecesis Matagalpensis ) is located in Nicaragua Roman Catholic diocese based in Matagalpa. It includes the Department of Matagalpa.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded the Episcopate on 19 December 1924, cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Managua. On July 21, 1962, lost part of the territory to the Territorialprälatur Juigalpa.
