Roman Catholic Diocese of Kasongo

The Diocese of Kasongo (Latin: Dioecesis Kasongoensis ) is a located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Roman Catholic diocese based in Kasongo.

History

The Diocese of Kasongo was posted on January 10, 1952 by Pope Pius XII. built with the Apostolic Constitution Pro supremi of annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate Baudouinville and Kivu as Apostolic Vicariate of Kasongo. On November 10, 1959, the Apostolic Vicariate of Kasongo was by Pope John XXIII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Cum parvulum to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Bukavu is a suffragan. The Diocese of Kasongo, on 16 April 1962 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Uvira.
