Roman Catholic Diocese of Kengtung

The diocese of Kengtung (Latin: Dioecesis Kengtunghensis ) is a location in Myanmar Roman Catholic diocese based in Keng Tung.

History

The diocese of Kengtung on April 27, 1927, Pope Pius XI. built with the Apostolic Constitution In omnes orbis out of territory of the Apostolic Vicariate of Eastern Burma as Apostolic Prefecture of Kengtung. The Apostolic Prefecture of Kengtung was on 26 May in 1950, Pope Pius XII. elevated to the Apostolic Vicariate. On January 1, 1955, the Vicariate Apostolic of Kengtung was Pius XII. applicable to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Mandalay is a suffragan. The diocese of Kengtung announced on November 20, 1975 from parts of its territory establishing the Apostolic Prefecture of Lashio. On January 17, 1998, the diocese of Kengtung was the Archdiocese of Taunggyi subordinated to the suffragan.
