Roman Catholic Diocese of Manzini

The Diocese of Manzini (Latin: Dioecesis Manziniensis ) is a location in Swaziland Roman Catholic diocese based in Manzini.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded established as Apostolic Prefecture of Swaziland on 19 April 1923 annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Natal. On 15 March 1939 she was elevated to the Apostolic Vicariate and on 11 January 1951 Bremersdorp diocese, the Archdiocese of Pretoria has been the subject to a Metropolitan bishopric. A portion of its territory, it gave to the Apostolic Prefecture of Volksrust and on 12 November 1962 was further to the Apostolic Prefecture Ingwavuma.

Received the current name on November 7, 1961. Was placed under the Archbishopric of Johannesburg on June 5, 2007.
