Louis Ncamiso Ndlovu

Louis Ncamiso Ndlovu OSM ( born March 15, 1945 in Enkaba; † August 27, 2012 in Manzini ) was Roman Catholic bishop of the Diocese of Manzini in Swaziland.

Life

Louis Ncamiso Ndlovu joined the Order of the Servites in, put the profession on April 12, 1975 and received on 4 May 1978 in the Cathedral in Manzini ordination.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 20 February 1981 for the Apostolic Administrator and on 1 July 1985 as Bishop of Manzini. He received his episcopal consecration of the Bishop of Eshowe, Mansuet Delaware Biyase, on 12 October 1985 Co-consecrators were George Francis Daniel, Archbishop of Pretoria and military Bishop of South Africa, and Wilfrid Fox Napier, OFM, Bishop of Kokstad.

He was president of the Southern African Catholic Bishops ' Conference ( SACBC ).

Work

Ncamiso Ndlovu was known as human rights, especially against King Mswati III .. He intervened permanently against the extravagance of the king and calling for investments in education, health and other development programs.

He expressed solidarity with the students of the Swaziland College of Technology, which protested against the lack of educational opportunities, even in the historic hunger strike at the University of Swaziland in the early 1990s. He gave the student asylum and prevented arrests by the police.

Ncamiso Ndlovu suffered from diabetes.
