Roman Catholic Diocese of Kokstad

The Diocese of Kokstad (Latin: Dioecesis Kokstadensis ) is a location in South Africa, Roman Catholic diocese based in Kokstad.

History

The Diocese of Kokstad was born on April 8, 1935 by Pope Pius XI. cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate of Mariannhill built as Apostolic Prefecture of Mount Currie. On 11 July 1939, the Apostolic Prefecture of Mount Currie was by Pope Pius XII. elevated to the Apostolic Vicariate and renamed Vicariate Apostolic Kokstad.

The Apostolic Vicariate of Kokstad was posted on January 11, 1951 by Pope Pius XII. applicable to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Durban is a suffragan.
