Roman Catholic Diocese of Middlesbrough

The Diocese of Middlesbrough (Latin: Dioecesis Medioburgensis ) is a facility located in the United Kingdom, Roman Catholic diocese based in Middlesbrough.

History

Pope Leo XIII. announced on 20 December 1878, the diocese of Beverley, which covered the whole of Yorkshire, in two parts: in the south of the River Ouse located diocese Leeds and the north of the river location Diocese of Middlesbrough. The city of York is divided between the two new dioceses, and until 1982 would all parishes of the city under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Middlesbrough.

Territory

The Diocese of Middlesbrough includes the unitary authorities of East Riding of Yorkshire and North Yorkshire.
