Roman Catholic Diocese of Ootacamund

The Diocese of Ootacamund (Latin: Dioecesis Ootacamundensis ) is a located in India Roman Catholic diocese based in Udagamandalam ( Ootacamund ). It comprises the district of Nilgiris, Erode parts of the district as well as a smaller part of the district of Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu.

History

The Diocese of Ootacamund was born on July 3, 1955 by Pope Pius XII. built with the Apostolic Constitution Nunciature in Psalmis of cessions of territory of the Diocese of Mysore and the Archdiocese of Madras - Mylapore, is a suffragan.
