Roman Catholic Diocese of Paulo Afonso

The Diocese of Paulo Afonso (Latin: Dioecesis Paulalfonsanensis ) is a located in Brazil Roman Catholic diocese based in Paulo Afonso, Bahia.

History

The Diocese of Paulo Afonso was born on September 14, 1971 by Pope Paul VI. Pastoral menus built with the Apostolic Constitution of cessions of territory of the Diocese of Bonfim and the Archdiocese of São Salvador da Bahia is a suffragan. On 16 January 2002, the Diocese of Paulo Afonso to the archbishopric Feira de Santana was a suffragan. The Diocese of Paulo Afonso announced on 21 September 2005 from parts of its territory to the foundation of the diocese Serrinha.
