Roman Catholic Diocese of Bonfim

The Diocese of Bonfim (Latin: Dioecesis Bonfimensis ) is a located in Brazil Roman Catholic diocese based in Senhor do Bonfim in Bahia state.

History

The Diocese of Bonfim was posted on April 6, 1933 by Pope Pius XI. built with the Apostolic Constitution Ad aptius christifidelium out of territory of the Archdiocese of São Salvador da Bahia and this is a suffragan. On November 14, 1959, the Diocese of Bonfim were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of Ruy Barbosa. Another area assignment was on 14 September 1971 on the establishment of the Diocese of Paulo Afonso. On 16 January 2002, the Diocese of Bonfim has been the Archdiocese of Feira de Santana is a suffragan.
