Roman Catholic Diocese of Port Harcourt

The Diocese of Port Harcourt (Latin: Portus Dioecesis Harcurtensis ) is a location in Nigeria Roman Catholic diocese based in Port Harcourt.

History

The Diocese of Port Harcourt was on 16 May in 1961 by Pope John XXIII. built with the Apostolic Constitution Quod Apostolis from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Owerri. On March 17, 1991, the Diocese of Port Harcourt were parts of its territory establishing the mission sui juris Bomadi from. The Diocese of Port Harcourt was placed under the Archdiocese of Calabar suffragan on 26 March 1994.
