Roman Catholic Diocese of Prince Albert
The Diocese of Prince -Albert (Latin: Dioecesis Principis albertensis ) is a location in Canada Roman Catholic diocese based in Prince Albert.
History
The Diocese of Prince -Albert was born on June 4, 1891 by Pope Leo XIII. out of territory of the Archdiocese of Saint -Boniface established as Apostolic Vicariate of Saskatchewan. The Apostolic Vicariate of Saskatchewan was raised on December 2, 1907 by Pope Pius X to the diocese and renamed the Diocese of Prince Albert. It was the Archdiocese of Regina is a suffragan. The Diocese of Prince Albert was renamed on 30 April 1921 in Diocese of Prince -Albert - Saskatoon. The Diocese of Prince -Albert - Saskatoon announced on May 6, 1921 from parts of its territory establishing the Territorial Abbey of Saint Peter- Muenster. On 9 June 1933, the Diocese of Prince -Albert - Saskatoon by Pope Pius XI. shared with the Apostolic Constitution Ecclesiarum omnium in the dioceses of Prince Albert and Saskatoon.
