Roman Catholic Diocese of San Pedro Sula

The Diocese of San Pedro Sula (Latin: Dioecesis de Sancto Petro Sula ) is a location in Honduras Roman Catholic diocese based in San Pedro Sula.

History

The Diocese of San Pedro Sula was founded on February 2, 1916 by Pope Benedict XV. out of territory of the Diocese of Comayagua built as Apostolic Vicariate of San Pedro Sula. The Apostolic Vicariate of San Pedro Sula was founded on July 6, 1963 by Pope Paul VI. raised to the bishopric. On July 3, 1987, the Diocese of San Pedro Sula were parts of its territory from the foundation of the diocese of Trujillo. The Diocese of San Pedro Sula was on December 30, 2011 from parts of its territory to the founding of the diocese of La Ceiba.

The Diocese of San Pedro Sula is the Archdiocese of Tegucigalpa, is a suffragan.
