Roman Catholic Diocese of Santos

The Diocese of Santos (Latin: Dioecesis Santo Sensis ) is a location in Brazil Roman Catholic diocese based in Santos, state of São Paulo.

History

The Diocese of Santos was born on July 4, 1924 by Pope Pius XI. built with the Papal Bull Ubi Praesules out of territory of the Archdiocese of São Paulo, and this is a suffragan. On 2 March 1968, the Diocese of Santos were parts of its territory from the foundation of the diocese Itapeva. For more territorial concessions were made on 19 January 1974 on the establishment of the Diocese of Registro, and on 3 March 1999 establishing the bishopric Caraguatatuba.
