Roman Catholic Diocese of Taichung

The Diocese of Taichung (Latin Dioecesis Taichungensis ) is a diocese located in the Republic of China to the Roman Catholic church located in Taichung. It includes the city of Taichung and Changhua counties and Nantou in the western part of the island of Taiwan.

History

Pope Pius XII. founded the Apostolic Taichung Prefecture on August 10, 1950, cessions of territory of the Apostolic Taipei Prefecture. It was in 1952 the Archdiocese of Taipei assumed as suffragan.

With the Apostolic Constitution Cum Deo iuvante it was raised on 16 April 1962 bishopric.
