Roman Catholic Diocese of Tarlac

The Diocese of Tarlac (Latin: Dioecesis Tarlacensis ) is a community on the island of Luzon in the Philippines Roman Catholic diocese based in Tarlac City. It includes the province of Tarlac.

History

Pope John XXIII. founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Clarissimae FAMAE on February 16, 1963 from annexations of the dioceses Lingayen - Dagupan and San Fernando and it became the Archdiocese of Manila assumed as suffragan.

On March 17, 1975, it was part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of San Fernando. An earthquake and then the first eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1990 and 1991, the diocese has faced with two major natural disasters.
