Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Fernando

The Archdiocese of San Fernando (Latin: Sancti Archidioecesis Ferdinandiova ) is a location in the Philippines Roman Catholic archdiocese based in San Fernando. It includes the province of Pampanga.

History

Pope Pius XII. founded the bishopric of San Fernando with the Bull sample noscitur on 11 December 1948, cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Manila, where there was also a suffragan. In 1950, the seminary of Mary, was dedicated mother of Good Counsel, was founded.

With the Apostolic Constitution Aptam Ecclesiarum it was raised on 17 March 1975 in the rank of Metropolitanerzbistums.
