Roman Catholic Diocese of Trois-Rivières

The diocese of Trois Rivières (Latin: Dioecesis Trifluvianensis in Canada) is a location in Canada Roman Catholic diocese based in Trois- Rivières.

History

The diocese of Trois Rivières was on June 8, 1852 by Pope Pius IX. built out of territory of the Archdiocese of Quebec and this is a suffragan. The diocese of Trois Rivières announced on August 28, 1874 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Sherbrooke. For more territorial concessions were made on July 11, 1882 foundation of the Apostolic Vicariate of Pontiac and on July 10, 1885 foundation of the diocese Nicolet.
