Roman Catholic Diocese of Pembroke

The Diocese of Pembroke (Latin: Dioecesis Pembrokensis ) is a location in Canada Roman Catholic diocese based in Pembroke.

History

The Diocese of Pembroke was born on July 11, 1882 by Pope Leo XIII. cessions of territory from the dioceses of Ottawa and Trois Rivières and the Archdiocese of Saint -Boniface established as Apostolic Vicariate of Pontiac. On 4 May 1898, the Vicariate Apostolic of Pontiac was Leo XIII. raised to the bishopric and renamed Pembroke diocese. It was the Archdiocese of Ottawa is a suffragan. The Diocese of Pembroke announced on 21 September 1908 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Apostolic Vicariate of Temiskaming.
