Roman Meluzín

Roman Meluzín ( born June 17, 1972 in Blansko, Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player who has played in its active period from 1988 to 2008, including for the mosquitoes eating in the German Ice Hockey League and Tappara Tampere of the SM - liiga.

Career

Roman Meluzín began his career as a hockey player with Zetor Brno, with which he shuttled from 1988 to 1992, respectively, between the 1st League and 2nd League. During this period he was in the fourth round as a total of 74 players selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1990 by the Winnipeg Jets, for whom he never played, however. Instead, the attacker of 1992, the Czech Extraliga ran until 1997 for the HC Zlín first in the highest Czechoslovak league, and then click. With Zlín the right shooter failed in the season 1994/ 95 and 1998/99 respectively hokejová to Vsetínská in the playoff finals. In the meantime, he stood in the 1997/98 season in their league rivals HC Slavia Prague under contract.

For the season 1999/2000 Meluzín changed for the first time abroad in Europe, where he had accepted for Tappara Tampere in the Finnish SM- liiga. The following season he joined the mosquitoes eating in the German Ice Hockey League and finished it in his home at HC Ocelari Třinec from the Extraliga. After the winger had finished the 2003/04 season at HC Slovan Bratislava in the Slovak Extraliga, he returned for three years back to his former club from Brno, who was staying in the meantime in the first second-rate league. His career ended the two-time world champion following the 2007/08 season at the age of 35 years at Hokej Šumperk 2003, which he had risen in the previous year in the first league.

Internationally

For Czechoslovakia Meluzín participated in the Junior World Championships in 1991 and 1992. He also was part in the World Championships in 1995, 1996 and 1999 in the Czech Republic squad.
