Ronald Pickup
Ronald Alfred Pickup ( born June 7, 1940 in Chester, Cheshire ) is a British actor.
Life and career
Ronald Pickup was born in 1940 in the North West of England Chester, close to the Welsh border. His parents were the editor Eric Pickup and his wife Daisy. He attended the King's School in his hometown of Chester. The acting was educated Pickup at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
As a theater actor he worked with Sir Laurence Olivier at the Royal National Theatre. In 1998 he was nominated for his performance in Amy 's View for Best Supporting Actor for the Laurence Olivier Award. Ronald Pickup has an extensive film career. In 1964 he made his first appearance before the Kamers in the first season of the television series Doctor Who. In 1982, he embodied in the Giuseppe Verdi in German- televised miniseries Giuseppe Verdi - An Italian legend. Furthermore, he never never appeared in numerous other television series and feature films such as Say, The Jackal, and most recently in 2012 in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
Ronald Pickup is married to actress Lans Traverse since 1964. Their common children Simon and Rachel Pickup Pickup is also an actor.
