Roofensee

The Roofensee is located in the district of Upper Havel in the north of Brandenburg, located about 6 km from the border with Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It covers with its elongated shape in a northwest-southeast direction, an area of 0.56 square kilometers and is up to 19 m deep. The Roofensee is part of the Natural Park Stechlin - Ruppin country. It is located on the territory of the municipality Stechlin and borders with its south-eastern end of the district of Menz.

The lake is 6 km long trail. Over part of this path also passes the 12 km of double as long Moorerlebnis path into the surrounding Lake Forest area leads beyond. It contains five disabled -scale partly stations, part of which was completed in 2007. In its entirety, the Moorerlebnis path was opened on 26 June 2008.

The Roofensee is connected via the Polzowkanal with other waters in the east to the small and large Wentowsee and in connection with the Havel river, in the west with the Nehmitzsee and following the Great Stechlinsee.
