Roquefort-sur-Soulzon

Roquefort -sur- Soulzon is a commune with 643 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the south of the department of Aveyron in southern France, in the heart of the Natural Park Regional Park of the Causses.

The place is known especially for its cheese production and as the origin of the blue-veined cheese Roquefort. The basis for this are several caves which are ventilated by faults so that an optimal climate for ripening the cheese is made. The townscape is dominated by the numerous dairies, which can be largely also be visited.
