Rosemarie Weiß-Scherberger

Rosemarie " Romy " Schernberger, born Rosemarie White, ( born July 19, 1935 in Freiburg im Breisgau) is a former German fencer from the Federal Republic of Germany, with the all-German team took part in the Olympic Games in 1960 and 1964.

It started up in 1962 under her birth name Rosemarie White. Their first international medal she won at the 1959 World Fencing Championships in Budapest. Together with Helmi cave, Helga Mees and Heidi Schmid received the bronze medal behind the Hungarians and the Soviet team. At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960, the German team finished fourth. 1962 won the foil fencer their only German title.

At the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo Rosemarie Schernberger reached in the individual competition the second round and was eliminated there from the jump-off. The German team with Helga Mees, Heidi Schmid, Gudrun Theuerkauff and Schernberger defeated in the semifinals against the Hungarians, but won the battle for the bronze medal against the Italians.
