Rosenthal Islands

The Rosenthal Islands ( also Rosenthal Islands) are a small island group in the south west of the Palmer Archipelago west of Anvers Island. The islands are mostly covered with ice and snow.

The Rosenthal Islands were discovered by Eduard Dallmann, on behalf of the German polar Navigation Company explored 1873/74 the waters off the Antarctic Peninsula. His shipping company named the island in the aftermath of the expedition to Albert Rosenthal (1828-1882), director of the German polar Navigation Company. Rosenthal was the initiator and organizer of the expedition.
