The University of Roskilde (Danish: Roskilde Universitet, until 2008 Roskilde Universitetscenter, in short: RUC ) is a public, academic educational institution for natural sciences, social sciences and humanities in the east of Roskilde, Denmark. She is a member of the University of the Arctic.

The motto of the University is In tranquillo mors - in fluctu vita (Danish: stilheden I doden, i Strømmen livet, German: In the silence is death, in the flow / movement of life ).
