Ross Norman

Ross Norman (born 7 January 1959 in Whitianga ) is a former New Zealand squash player.

Career

Norman's highest placing in the rankings was the second rank in December 1985, he took a long time behind the Pakistani Jahangir Khan. This was unbeaten until the time of World Cup 1986 in Toulouse for five years. But just in the final of the World Cup succeeded Norman to break this dominance and to secure a 3-1 win the world title. The jump to the top of world rankings remained denied him despite this success. He is the only New Zealander who has ever been world champion in the men's squash. With the team he was in 1985 and 1987 respectively Vice World Champion behind Pakistan. 2009 Norman was added as a second squash players by Susan Devoy in the New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame.

1994 Norman ended his career. He is the father of two sons.
