Geoff Hunt

Brian Geoffrey " Geoff " Hunt, MBE, AM ( born March 11, 1947 in Melbourne ) is a retired Australian squash player. He won the world championship four times.

Career

From February 1976 to 1980 Hunt was World Ranking Leading and won four times in these years the World Cup. In 1981, he failed in his fifth finals at Jahangir Khan. Thus, the Australian is one of the three most successful squash players in history. In addition, a further eight titles at the British Open, which he could in 1969, 1974 and 1976-1981 win. The Australian Open, he won eight times. From a total of 215 tournaments in which he participated during his career, Hunt won 178 with the Australian national team, he won 1967-1971 three times the World Cup.

Due to back problems had to end his career Hunt. From 1985 to 2003 he served with the Australian Institute of Sport as head coach of the squash department. In 2003 he joined as a coach at a training center in Doha, Qatar, where he is employed to this day.

Hunt is a member of the Hall of Fames of the World Squash Federation and the Australian Squash Association.
