Ross, Tasmania

Ross is a historical place in the Midlands of Tasmania, Australia, at the Macquarie River.

The place is located 78 km south of Launceston and 117 km north of Hobart at an altitude of 186 meters above the sea and in 2006 had a total of 272 inhabitants.

Ross is listed in the Register of the National Estate, a list that registered the natural and cultural monuments in the country. Particularly well known is the historical bridge over the Macquarie from the 1830s, the oldest surviving stone bridge in Australia, and the sandstone building in the town.
