Roteck

The Roteck ( Italian: Monte Rosso ) is with 3337 m the highest peak of the Texel Group in South Tyrol. Even at the end of the 19th century the mountain was called Ten top and took advantage of the inhabitants of the Pfossentals to determine the time.

The first recorded ascent succeeded on July 14, 1872 Theodor Petersen, 1869-1894 Board of the Frankfurt the German Alpine Club section, Rochus Raffeiner, Blacksmith of Katharinaberg, and the shepherd Illdefons Kobler the southwest.

The usual and ( with the exception of the uppermost boom on the east ridge from the summit lip, which is provided with fixed fuses since 1901 ) slight ascent takes place without contact from the glacier Lodnerhütte. The summit cross was set in 1978.
